About UsThe history of Vital Prosthetics dates back to the shoe repair store that Dale Petersen's grandfather, Adolph Petersen, operated in St. Petersburg, Florida in the 1930's. Gradually, the elder Petersen began designing and making orthopedic shoes and arch supports for sale to patients.
Dale's father, Dale senior, continued the business,
expanding it by becoming a practicing orthotist and orthopedic appliance
manufacturer. When Dale was
old enough to enter the business, he became an orthotic and
prosthetic technician. When Florida became the first state in the
nation to regulate orthotics and prosthetics as a medical profession,
Dale applied for and passed the battery of ABC certification testing. He
is an ABC and BOC licensed and certified prosthetics and orthotics
practitioner and technician. Dale has been a practical and technical prosthetist for 25 years, from pediatric to geriatric clients. "I've seen it all," he says of his years of experience. "Vital Prosthetics can design, create, and fit any prosthetic application the patient requires. We make that our promise to our patients." |
